As a Swifty I was so excited to read this. The reality is that the whole book fell SO SHORT! The only enjoyable experience from this read was finding all the Taylor references and Easter eggs. The characters were not likeable at all, and I did not find myself rooting for either of the leads. Overall disappointing.

This is hands down one of my favorite books. The story line was great. It was the perfect mix of funny and romantic. I loved how she did the epilogue. I wish more books did that.

As a Morgan Elizabeth superfan, I really wanted to love this so much more. A Taylor Swift coded book? It sounds like a dream come true! But I definitely don't think it's anywhere near her best work. I found the characters in this to be a bit too stubborn, and it made it difficult to fall in love with them like I have so easily with her other characters. Zander, who I remember really liking from past books, has himself convinced he is so in love with Zoe, yet he is trying to change everything about her. And I get it, he misses the care-free version of Zoe he loved when they were younger, but people change as they grow up and enter the real world and shouldn't have to worry about who they are just to please someone else. But at the same time, it was painfully clear how unhappy Zoe's corporate ladder life was making her. So when she quit her job and dumped her boyfriend on a whim, I don't understand why she was so stubborn all of a sudden to admit that and try something new when clearly she had an epiphany at one point. The whole thing just felt very repetitive, with them having the same conversations over and over again and I felt like it was just missing something.

This book was average. It felt like it tried too hard to reference Taylor Swift songs and it felt forced.
I think this book would have been better if Zoe didn’t remember the box at all and Zander had found it, helping his sister clean out their house. Then he finds the bit of paper with her childhood wishes and takes it upon himself to go and fulfil those for Zoe.
Zoe is extremely frustrating. One chapter, she’s talking about how she loves Zander and wants to be with him and the next she’s telling him it can’t work. Zander had been communicating his feelings clearer once he realised Zoe was too dense in the head to understand and she still wasn’t getting it. A quote from Zoe: “what do you mean you love me, Zander?” Right after he tells her he loves her. WHAT ELSE WOULD IT MEAN? USE YOUR BRAIN!!!
