I reallyyyy liked The Vow and I wasn’t prepared for that. I love the idea of people finding their true loves after such tragedy & overcoming loss. Sebastian lost the love of his life 10 years ago and never recovered. He made peace with the fact that his life will remain the same until Lily walks in looking exactly like what he lost. Lily lost her entire family one fatal night and has felt like the mistake that was left alive. Two people who’s paths “shouldn’t” have ever crossed somehow get tangled up in the beautiful love story. I’m such a fan of this book, love truly does heal all and I couldn’t think of two people more deserving of healing. This book pulled at my heart strings in ways I didn’t expect but man did it have me swooning in bed and highlighting passages on my kindle. That being said I can’t WAIT to read Lex’s book. This series has taken over my life & I can’t complain

I love Seb!!

This might be the best of the series yet. It at least gives Reno’s story a run for its money. J. L. Beck and Cassandra Hallman haven’t let me down yet. It’s hot and steamy yet funny and sad. Go 1-click this bad boy.

The Vow is the fourth book in these interconnected stories in the North Woods University series. Although characters from previous books appeared and had roles in this story, this can be read as a standalone. In my opinion though, I suggest you read the previous books. The story is told through dual POV and it’s a contemporary, age-gap, forbidden romance.

If you have read the other books in this series, you would know that Sebastian is Remington’s (the hero of the first book) brother. Right from the beginning of this series, I have expressed my wish for Seb (and even Lex because I just love the Miller men!) to have their own story. And my oh my, have my wish been granted, not to mention that his story is intriguing too! I’ve loved the sexual tension that comes out the pages of the book, the angst, loss and heartaches that these two had experienced. Their love story is not an easy one since both of them had a lot to lose. This is quite a ride and I have enjoyed every moment of it. I’ll be impatiently waiting to see if Lex will get his story next.

Review to come soon...I hope.

Tropes: Older man/Younger woman, teacher/student (he's the new dean at the college she just started), and he was also her dead sister's boyfriend/fiancee.

I have been DYING for Seb’s story since we met him in Book 1 of the North Woods series, and I am not disappointed in the slightest.
First(and I have to get this out of the way), I was not prepared for the twist. Like at all. For me, it came a little out of nowhere. It wasn’t bad, just a little unexpected, but I guess maybe not as well, because the clues were all there, and I didn’t follow them like I should have.
Anyways.
“We’re a match made in heaven but forbidden as sin.”- if this isn’t the tag line for this book, it absolutely should be, because it describes this couple beautifully.
My absolute swoon moment?
“You’re the sun, and the moon, you’re the gd stars in my galaxy. You’re happiness and sadness. You’re perfection and chaos. You’re mine.”- I melted into this whole pile of goo, right here. Who doesn’t want a man to think something like this about them, never mind to verbalize it. (Also, edited because I’d like my review to be seen)
Recommend. This duo has not let me down yet, and they keep giving me more goodness to squeal over.

I was waiting patiently for this one since reading the last one. This one is the forbidden love. The love that shouldn't happen but it is love that cannot be controlled. I have loved every single book in this series but this one is my favorite. There is just something about this one. Sebastian is the dean of the college. He has lost the one of his life and has not really dealt with it. Until one day when someone who looks just like her walks into his office. The thing is the reason she looks just like her is because she is her sister. The only one that survived the accident that took everyone in her family. She is dealing with her own demons and not dealing with them any better than Sebastian is. Put these two together and hold on because they have some hot sexy chemistry but it is forbidden because he is the dean and she is a student. But will that stop them? Will they work past their history and see what is right in front of them? Will he lose her like he lost her sister? A gripping emotional storyline with two amazing characters who hook you right from the beginning. I absolutely love this one and cant wait to read more from all these characters.

I'm sure this book is for someone, but it wasn't for me. If you like angsty characters, this would be good for you. The overwhelming lack of self confidence from the fmc just really turned me off and this far in for there to be no progress towards maybe thinking even a tiny bit better of herself just annoyed me. Again, that's just me. A+ for Teddy Hamilton in the audiobook though, as always.

The Vow is a forbidden, age-gap romance with a twist. It will have you turning the pages until the very last one.

Sebastian Miller just got his dream job. He’s the newly appointed dean of North Woods University, he has everything he could possibly want, until a reminder of his lost love strolls into his office. Lily Kline is everything he shouldn’t want; a student, his dead girlfriend’s little sister, and a constant reminder of what he’s lost. Yet he just can’t seem to stay away, she thaws his dark heart and his brooding ways. He’s the best kind of A-hole that complements Lily Kline’s sweet and sassiness. Neither expected to fall in love but is love enough? When they have so much stacked against them?

Available for preorder now. Coming early October. Make sure you grab it.
