My seventh Discworld book and one of my favorites. I thought this one was excellent. I continue to be impressed by how Pratchett writes women.

My first discworld and truly one of my favorites to this day. It is the discworld novel to end all discworld novels humorous with a bit of existentialism as a treat "Do you think God stays in heaven because he, too, lives in fear of what he's created here on earth?" - Robert Rodriguez, writer of Spy Kids 2”, well if if this question includes Mr. Teatime the answer should be yes. This book is wonderful, both in concept how does one go about killing a god? And in execution, in the uk Hogfather has achieved Christmas classic status, and in my opinion stands shoulder to shoulder with Dickens’ Christmas Carol and has more then rightfully earned its spot under the tree. It is both an exercise in parody and in sincerity in equal measure. It served as my entry point into the books and in retrospect I couldn’t have chosen better, others will aver others but I will go to my dying day insisting that this is best and only entry point if you want to make a prospective reader a life long fan.

“Humans need fantasy to be human. To be the place where the falling Angel meets the rising ape.”
Wow. This is the third book I’ve read in the Death series, and by far my favourite. I’m going to try to watch the movie adaptation soon. This review would be five stars, if not for the bathroom subplot. Not sure how it was supposed to contribute to the overarching narrative.

"He'd thought that Hogswatch was all... plum pudding and brandy and ho ho ho, and he didn't have the kind of mind that could ignore all the other stuff. And so it hurt him."
Pratchett truly was a master at Fantasy. I'm not as wild about Hogfather compared with some of his other works so far, but it was definitely a great one.
