Not my usual cup of tea but I liked it fine, so it's a little hard to rate
I liked this book but it wasn't especially exceptional. Elizabeth Woodville was a figure previously unknown to me and I enjoyed hearing about her life and the internal strife that the throne of England caused the families of York and Lancaster.
This book at times though felt a bit forced and slow even though there seemed to be conflict after conflict, which wore a bit thin after a while. Although I realise this is the actually history of the time, I felt it could have been approached in a way that was more engaging to the reader.
I probably will not be pursuing any of Gregory's other historical work but I can appreciate the effect of research that would go into such works. This is probably a book my mother would enjoy more than I did. I will be however watch the television drama of the same name to get a more visual interpretation of the book and period as well as finding some more historically based books to fain further knowledge of the period.

Enjoyable and nostalgic, as I loved Philippa Gregory’s books when I was younger. Full of potential inaccuracies or embellishments I’m sure, but was a fun read!
