In the midst of my meditations on the relationship between faith and reason, of philosophy and theology, I was inspired to finally read "L'Autobiographie," one which I have not bothered to touch in the recent months. What struck me was the simplicity of faith that the Little Flower (or, as we say, the unoffical patron saint of our Basic Ecclesial Community in San Jose Seminary for being the, ehem, most photographed saint--which tells a lot about us, anyway) bears in her daily living. This brings forth the heavy implications of Christian life: if it is for the simple, then why elaborate on its great tradition with a distinct critical approach from the eyes of faith?
Abangan ang susunod na kabanata. Reason and Christian Faith in a few months.

No other spiritual book has ever made me feel more ashamed. Thérèse lived her faith to a heroic degree, and how different from the heroism of, say, Joan of Arc - I almost find Joan's road to holiness more bearable than Thérèse's! Dear little saint, pray for my soul.
