Slow-paced, hard to follow the story. Much of it was redundant musings while not gaining further insight for my spiritual life.

Clear, simple and yet profound. The first time I attempted to read this book I couldn’t make it through the first chapter without feeling repelled. This time around I read and reread almost every page just to soak in her every insight. I couldn’t get enough.

The straight forward way she explains her experiences, how she lays bare the graces God has given her, and how she uses suffering, even pursues suffering for the glory of God is nothing short of beautiful. After the first few chapters I felt as if I knew myself better. Half way into the book it was as if I had met a new best friend. Without a doubt, I’ll be rereading this book again.

Sweet autobiography of an innocent young lady in 19th century France. Really, 3 distinct autobiographical letters written to different people before she died at a young age, sharing her heart for God, for others, and for the love of servitude.

It was a much shorter story then I was hoping for but it was a very good summary of St. Therese life. If you want a brief summary I would recommend this book. If you want a more detailed story of her life then you should probably look elsewhere.
