I loved this book. So many nuggets of wisdom. I read it slowly because I wanted to stay in that little town, following Frankie, and waiting for that next perfect depiction of faith, grace, hope and love.

This truly is a richly written book. You could just step into the town of New Bremen. And how to incorporate so many cultural differences in a small town? Brilliant

Ordinary Grace is the story of the Drum family and a summer that changed everything for them and the community. This book was very well written, with enough description to give you a very real feel for the setting and events but not so much that it's overdone. The characters were well developed so as the story went on you were able to really have a feel for them and why they'd done the things they done. Overall I'm impressed with this author and want to read his other works.

knew this would do a number on me when one of the opening pages said “the heart has reasons that reason does not understand”

A really entertaining coming of age story set in the 60's in Minnesota. I didn't guess the killer till right when I was supposed to (I think), which is always nice. I did really enjoy the characters and the small town feel of the book. Certainly would recommend but wouldn't go out of my way to do so.
