I really loved this book. It was heartbreaking and beautifully healing at the same time. I felt like the story told from the young boys perspective was unique. I loved the principles of faith woven in between the hardships of the story. The author took me to each scene with his descriptions and I felt all the feelings of young Frank and Jake as the story unfolded.

I might come back and change my four starts to five... I'm still digesting this book but it was fantastic. It was so... Personal is the only word that comes to mind. Not personal to me, but you could tell that a lot of work and love and real thought went into this novel. This was my first William Kent Krueger book and it will definitely not be my last! I was so impressed! Really... You should read it.
Beautifully written. I dare you not to be deeply moved by the sermon given at the funeral - you'll know which one.
