This book had a loose, quick and easy plot and solution. It does build on other books written by this author and connects flawlessly in that aspect with creating an underworld to play in. I do think it ranges a little less cohesive in story telling in comparison to her other books (Neon Gods). But with that being said we already know this spin of the story through Disney.

Overall I gave this book a middle rating because even without a full blown story this book was SPICY. Full of partner watching, group orgies, submission, threesomes, public shame/nudity, and daddy issues. These scenes were all written incredibly well but graphic. I would say border line porn. Even with that being said I wanted a spicy read and this delivered. Not for the faint of heart.

♥ quick thoughts
Has one of the hottest scenes I’ve ready in a long time, if not ever.
The whole questionable consent theme through the book wasn’t my favourite. But it definitely kept me interested.

One star bc the sex is good but this sucked lowkey. The annotations didn’t add anything imo and were kind of annoying! I wish she would have expanded more on like her inspirations from the source material vs how she makes her characters more kinky and romance tropes.

I knew was reading “spicy Disney” but jeez

Never have I hated a book that just smut this much. Being real I didn't even finish it I stopped at 80% because I was done with it at that point. Even if the last 20% of the book was 5-star material (which I can guarantee it isn't) my rating would still be the same. I walked into this book shipping Jafar and Jasmine and left it confused, bewildered and mildly traumatised. This book's smut was uncomfortable and am I for saying that I did skip through it a bit? I got a bit bored of Jafar's awesome penis and wanted some more character and flavour to the story. This story had potential as it was set in modern times because they were in cars. Also super confused about this Hades person maybe would have gotten clarity if I finished it (doubt it) but like is he a god, does he have powers probably not but I was never told specifics. I felt like this world needed a lot more character and a lot more effort to flesh out all the interesting modernisation of elements and themes found in ancient India or whatever time Aladdin is set in. I wanted to know the politics of it, I wanted to understand the world and its design.

I love Katee Robert but this book was a miss for me. It was more of a novella than a novel. The development was too quick and they barely spent time together to love each other inside their new dynamic. The ending was only moderately satisfying. The spice was spicing though.

Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I was more interested in the beginning, the end was meh

Well that was super fun! I really like Katee Robert's dark romances and she did not disappoint with this Aladdin reselling where *Spoiler* Jafar is the "good"guy😍 scandalous and spicy and 100% cured my Onyx Storm hangover! This was the special edition with the authors annotations and special artwork and I absolutely loved it!!!
