An enjoyable read - though I would not put this above the first book. Less glamour, much more working class insight.
The romance was cute, though I did not feel the sparks. The two main characters, on their own, were truly interesting and well fleshed-out, however!

Oh, ik dacht dat een boek niet beter kon zijn dan deel 1! Dat boek had alles: sterke vrouwelijke hoofdpersonages, actie en intrige, met een vleugje romantiek. Maar: dit boek had dat allemaal óók, maar dan met romantiek die me echt deed glimlachen naar het boek en deed smelten tot een gesmolten plasje.. verliefde lezer? Oj oj oj wat was dit een puur genot, ik wil NU deel 3!

Not the fastest start, but it was nicely paced and followed up beautifully from book one.
Marigold makes a nice lead, and it was good to see a happily ever after for Oliver. The story was a lovely tidbit of adventure, tidily told, with each scene useful towards the plot. Not a heavily convoluted plot, but it was nicely done and was a good justification for the ultimate romance that shines through.
Thoroughly enjoyable.
We also get some LGBT representation, in the form of a lesbian couple as side characters.
