This was incredible in my opinion. From start to finish I was sucked into the world and could not put the book down for the life of me. It’s funny, it’s unique, it’s fun, it’s magical, the YEARNING, the banter, I love quite literally all of the characters for their own unique reasons and it’s just a really really great time. Not to mention there are SIRENS!!!! HELLO?!

The plot was incredibly easy to follow and the plot twists had my jaw on the floor! The writing is fantastic and the cohesiveness the author created is just phenomenal.

For my first YA novel read, this book blew it out of the park. 100% recommend!

would've been a solid 4 stars but a cliffhanger? really?
besides that, what a beautiful debut novel
really takes the classic fairytale and updates it to be modern but in a very respectful way
there were parts of the book where I felt that it was dragging a bit but the pace would pick up immediately after so it was always fleeting

This can't be everything???!!! It's like the story is complete, but I need to know what happens next! It is familiar due to the ties with The Little Mermaid, but it's a lot more complex. Also, the side characters were so well developed. I haven't read anything like it. Audiobook is worth it for the singing portions.
