I saw the artwork on the cover and by various artist and knew I wanted to read this. I don't read enough pirate and mermaid books so this felt like a nice jump back in book. You could really feel the touched of the little mermaid spin in this one but with other twists that took you away from that story. I liked Celeste a lot and found myself interested in the decisions she made throughout the book. She's a very flawed character who has never felt like she fit in but she has a lot of good intentions. Raiden i kind of felt ify for. He was a big flirt but his behavior gave me whiplash like no other (still not sure how I feel about him). The side characters were so much fun and I loved the little found family and new friendships she makes. No surprise but I love the pupper the most 💚

3.75 - the vibes were fairly immaculate but at times a little cringey and there was some glaring issues. Would love to read the next one because I really enjoyed it but in no way to I think it was an objectively good book I just love pirates and found family, sue me.
