At least 100 pages too long, too repetitive and I pretty much lost interest after 200 pages and skimmed the rest… Not my favorite Sarah Moss novel

Wow this narrator is so melodramatic. I mean, sure, his kid almost died or whatever, but like...can we cut out the overly flowery prose? I feel like I’ve chosen “death by potpourri” in a Choose your Own Adventure novel. I am SMOTHERED by purple petals.

I really wanted to like this, but I could barely get past page 40. I might grab this book off the shelf, dust off the pollen, and make another attempt at some point, but for now it’s gonna be a no for me dawg.
