The story here was interesting, but I HATED the art for issues 9-12, which took away some of my enjoyment of the story.
Love the writing on this series! Great dialogue and interaction with amazing women. Not a fan of the artist for issues 9-12 in this trade, though. Maybe it was partly because it felt like a jarring contrast with the artist for the first two issues in this one? Still enjoyed the story and looking forward to seeing how Captain Marvel's health turns out.
Really enjoyed this installment a lot. I always like to see comics that deal with real world issues in addition to the whole catching bad guys thing. Carol is such a great hero and it was also fun to see her interact with Monica Rambeau and their banter was super cute
This is that rare creature: a 2nd book that's somehow stronger than the first. The stories are fun and further the character, tis laugh out loud funny, the plotting and writing is tight, and (wonder of wonders!) the cameos are actually enjoyable. Instead of feeling dumped into the book in a choppy, jarring way, the guest stars actually feel blended in- like they're Captain Marvel's real friends & co-workers interacting with her in a normal way.
I'd recommend this one to those who loved the excellent Hawkeye work that Matt Fraction is doing. And... as soon as I typed that I remembered the two authors are married. Must be something in the water at their house.

Didn't like this as much as the last volume. The artists' style was too loose for my tastes. DeConnick didn't quite capture the voice of Monica Rambeau. She was too angry and not funny in that dark, wry way she should be. Also, everyone except Wendy, Jessica Drew, and Carol tend to sound like the old lady pilot. It was a bit monotonous.
I'm not a huge fan of the art. If it wasn't a marvel comic, maybe the art would have been more fitting. But it didn't suit captain marvel.
