I adored Carter and Austin. This book has some of my favorite tropes and was actually the first Catherine Cowles' book that I ever read!

Carter is a bit of a jerk at the beginning, and Austin slowly works her way into his life and his heart, but he doesn't know what to do with that and does something extremely stupid. Like idiot worthy, but forgivable. Austin needs time to move on, plus she has a lot of other personal life things happening, so Austin and Carter go there separate ways for a while, and Austin needs to take the time to prove he can be the man she deserves. When he finally does wake up, he realizes she's it, and he has to grovel, like a lot.

Austin was sweet, a bit naïve at the beginning, but she learns quickly. Her sweetness is part of her charm and it helps her to forgive. She is still one of my favorite female characters.

This book is a story of betrayal, of second chance, with a lot angst and toss in stalker, it's the perfect binge worthy romance that will keeps you reading.

With outside forces working to keep Carter and Austin apart, but they fight for each other and it's swoon worthy. This book opened my eyes to the big, wide world of Catherine and I absolutely love her books and characters!!

This might be my favorite Catherine Cowles book!! I just loved Carter & Austin. Had the same suspense as all of her other books but I found this one to move along better and was more engaging to me. I know her newer books are super popular but this oldie was perfect for me. Friends to lovers & second chance romance

This is Catherine's first book AND features characters from the Beautifully Broken Pieces series (Taylor and Liam) and Reckless Memories (Ford) ?! How did I miss on these facts ?!

I thought this was a great debut novel ! I loved Carter and Austin's story, even if Austin was a jerk at the beginning. Their relationship is strong and I absolutely adore the fact that they started as best friends.

Again, I figured out pretty quickly who the stalker was (except from one thing) but it's not about being surprised for me, it's about the journey. And I'm very happy with where Austin and Carter ended up.

I loved the relationship between Austin and Carter. How things are rocky in the beginning to amazing. These two were amazing together. So very good for each other. I loved the story line how everything goes down . Catherine gained a fan with this one. Hoping Taylor gets her own story. Highly recommend.

4.5 stars! Okay I can’t believe this was her debut novel?? So good. I only have 1 more books before I finish CC’s backlist I think and this is probably in my top 3. I love Carter and Austin

I also think I can firmly say Catherine is without a doubt one of my favorite authors and I’m just absolutely addicted to anything she writes.
