I was driven to read this book by this article. I didn't read the article, but I wanted to know what was so heartbreaking about this GRRM tale. So I picked up the book.

I enjoyed it. I really did. I hope for more stories about Dunk and Egg in the coming future. It is a good story to write and considerably less complicated than The Song of Ice & Fire series. Seeing Dunk coming into his own as a knight and clearing his ignorance, growing beyond Dunk the Lunk, is great. Seeing Egg interact with the world around him is interesting. I hope he learns to avoid taking the easy way out (showing his boot) in future stories.
I recommend it if you are a fan. It felt good catching up on the stories of Westeros.

Three short stories. They were easy to read, well written, and entertaining. I loved that Ser Duncan was Dunk the Lunk but he had Honor.
Love all three short stories! Can't get enough of this world.

this was such a good read, so much good lore and world building, gorgeous artwork that bought prophetic dreams and dragon metaphors to life, dunk and egg are a wonderful and chaotic duo who i’m going to miss so dearly, there’s crumbs of bloodraven who i’m dying to know more about, the blackfyre rebellion lore is written incredibly, but at its heart is really is dunk and egg who make this book such a wonderful and comforting read. i look forward to rereading this bc i miss them already

I was lucky enough to win this book in a Goodreads first read competition. I am a big fan of the The Game of Thrones Books but I have never read any of George R R Martin’s other books.
The first think I noticed was the relief I felt to be concentrating on only two characters and I really loved Egg and Dunk. They reminded me of Brienne and Podrick. I liked the first two stories; The Hedge Knight and The Sworn Sword but the last story is the best; The Mystery Knight. It makes me ache for more stories about Egg and Dunk and, well, I don’t want to start about the wait for the next instalment of Game of Thrones! I think I may need to find more George R R Martin books to read.
Oh and even if you have read the novellas before, I’d strongly urge you to have a look at this edition because the illustrations are beautiful. They are cleverly integrated with the text and do not interrupt the flow of the words. It was an absolute pleasure to read this book.

I kind of enjoyed this one!! I've been putting this off because I had such a shitty experience towards the end of my GOT read But I decided I needed some fantasy. I listen to the audiobook and I must say the narrator did a really good job and he did a lot of fun voices. I am excited for the show to come out and I am looking forward to see what they do with it! I seem to like the show adaptation of his works better than his actual works
