It’s reopening my desire for more werewolf romances! It was well thought out and I was curious what Serena’s storyline would be and wasn’t disappointed.

My least favorite set up is the way we get one line of Lowe’s pov. I feel we could have gotten more or just not at all.

Bride was a character forward romance novel with the enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, and a touch of fated mates tropes.

It was open door, too spicy for me vampire/werewolf m/f story.

The world building was inconsistent.  There appears to be separate werewolves, vampires, and human territories, but it also seems to take place in the current world.  It's not defined how those barriers are separated.

The politics are also inconsistent. Implying that there is no treaty being humans and werewolves in one chapter and then that they attend the same universities in the next.

The romance is fine, but there wasn't much if anything keeping them apart.

At the novels center is the mystery of what happened to the MC's best friend and who can be trusted in the pack.  It drove the plot forward but in a way that detracted from rather than enhanced the romance.

The short one-liner chapters from Low's POV were too short.  I would have liked more information from him.

It was pretty good.

I liked this book and knew it would be great since I love everything Ali H. writes. Definitely a different a read from her usual and a little slower, but interspecies must not rush into these things! I'd read this again for sure.

I really liked this. I've said it before, but Ali has me in a choke hold and I will read all of her books. The chemistry was so thick and tangible, it was hot. I was kinda mad though at the knot bc I did not expect like an omega verse thing and I'm like damn girl you really waited til you got me hooked, 80% through and I'm too stubborn to dnf it. I was like "I pretend I do not see" I get that it's for some people, but it's not for me lol outside of this gross detail, I really liked the book and would so read more about them!
I'd say 3.5/5 spice I think bc it was pretty vanilla but def way more scenes than her other books.

This was another surprise for me. I had heard mixed reviews and decided to try it out and to my surprise I really enjoyed it. In my opinion this is a true enemies to lovers since it is different species who hate each other. I understand why people don't like this book and I understand why people love this book. Personally, if you don't like arranged marriages, spicy scenes (that you can easily skip over and lose nothing in the story), enemies to lovers then don't read this book.

While cringy at points, the characters are lovable and fun to read. I do wish hazelwood would have leaned more into the supernatural aspect instead of trying to use biology to explain why the weres/vampires were different from humans. I know she usually deals in stem novels but I feel like she should have gone all or nothing for her first supernatural romance. Either commit to making the biology realistic or just go full spooky. Otherwise, an enjoyable read.
