This is a book I found deeply difficult. But I’m not going to review it in the usual way. Even the rating I gave it isn't a typical one.
I’m not here to judge the writing style or say whether it was entertaining. I’m not going to tell you whether I liked the people in it. That’s not the point.
All I’ll say is this: Everyone should read this diary.
Not because people aren’t aware that war is horrific - we’re taught that in school. Everyone understands that. But because reading this is the very least we can do now. Don’t just memorise the statistics. Remember the people. Put names and faces to the numbers. Let yourself feel the love, the dread, the quiet moments of joy, the despair, the dreams… and above all, the hope.

I had wanted to read this book for about 6 years and finally got around to it. Thought I knew some of the details is crazy to hear about how petrifying living in the annex was and how long they were able to hide out from the police.
Hearing her plans for when they got liberated and were free once again broke my heart knowing her ending wouldn’t be the way she planned. I’m happy that she at least got to become a writer and a well known one at that even if she didn’t live to see it happen.

It feels wrong to rate this book, as it is the diary of a human being and there is no right way to do that. Anne reminds me of myself and many other teenagers I've met. She is so normal with normal fears and thoughts. I'm so lucky that I get this intimate look into her life, and it is heartbreaking that she didn't make it to see her diary's success which I know she would've been so excited about.

Este diario lo tiene todo, por más que seas experimentado en la vida, esto te hace ver lo que era el mundo realmente, te hace vivir en el pellejo de una adolescente que tiene que soportar la antipatía de su alrededor.
Es algo torturador porque es muy triste, pero nos lleva a ese pasado terrible, a veces se tornara pesado, aunque produce mucha reflexión para no volver a esos tiempos. Nos lleva a la comprensión y compasión, y a valorar lo que se tiene y lo que no también.
Si quieres leer algo de la segunda guerra de como vivieron los judíos en está época este libro debe ser una de tus opciones.
