Summer of '69

Elin Hilderbrand

5 stars if there hadn't been such a blah ending, with a whole chapter devoted to an extremely peripheral character that I did not care about at all after spending so much time with all the other actual main characters. I did really enjoy this easy breezy read, though.

I can't believe I wasted my time reading this. I only finished it because a family member lent it to me and I felt compelled to finish.

This was a quick read, and sucked me in quickly. It was predictable in parts, but kept me reading. I loved the era of the book, and love Hilderbrand’s Nantucket settings.

This book is a great beach read, and it uses the events of 1969 as a backdrop. I really enjoyed it.

This book was a nice getaway. Each character has their own secret, some of which are predictable but others surprisingly not. Either way, the book had great character development and closure.

This one is kind of long, but a good fun read. It’s one of those books that pulls you into a family’s circle so close you feel like you’re a part of their story.
