That Boy

I was not prepared for the horrible plot twist in the middle, but overall, it was a really sweet book---a bit predictable but I enjoyed the journey from elementary school to adult with her guy friends and how that worked out for her.

Oh that boy

I've had this book in my library for ages. But while I have KU I can finish the series. I love that these three grew up together. But the adorable naked baby pictures of Phillip and JJ are just perfect, kind of told the outcome before it really began. For some reason the connection between Phillip and Jadyn I just don't feel. Which is odd to me, because really is her Prince, always there for her. Maybe it's the PG-ness of the book I'm not used to. But I will finish the series. Hopefully I start to feel the bond between them.

OMG!!! This was awesome!! The whole book all I kept wondering was Philip or Danny, Danny or Philip.... If you're looking for a light funny book then this is the one.

It was really fun, and a quick read. I read it in about a day on my iPad.

I enjoyed this story so much. We follow Jayden James Reynolds (JJ) throughout her life as she tells the story of how she fell in love with the boy next door, and it is an AMAZING story. She starts to tell the story in the 4th grade with her first kiss on the playground and takes you all the way through her college graduation and beyond. There is plenty of drama, but also some very sweet and steamy parts along the way. The ending is so great and it was so very perfect.. when you read this book, you'll KNOW what I'm blabbering about!

I loved that the book had little drawings and such in it as if it were JJ's personal journal rather than a novel. It helped me to become even more enthralled by the story. This is definitely a good read if you enjoy romance and if you believe in happily ever after. Especially if you believe in happily ever after.

Also... girls can and should MOST DEFINITELY have a guy friend... or two. :)

This book was everything I love about reading YA fiction. I'm kind of new to this genre and have been burning through books lately, unable to get my fill of them. This one just sparked the right note and balance between angst and sweetness. I love how well the characters are developed. I felt like Jillian did an amazing job and making JJ, Phillip and Danny all lovable and likable characters. I was torn between who I wanted her to be with through the whole book but kind of felt like I knew who she would end up with in the end.

My one complaint is that I felt like the second half of the book, (the after college years), had a totally different feel than the first half. I felt like there wasn't enough build up between JJ and the boy she chose (I don't want to give too much away) and that it was kind of rushed. I didn't get that swooney feeling I wanted when the two of them were getting together like I did earlier in the book. But I still loved it and I still give it 5 stars because I would totally recommend it to anyone who loves YA fiction and I will probably re-read it! I also love that I got it for the sale price this month of $2.99! I would have paid more for it if I knew about it and how good it was going to be. Took me about 6 hours to read through it (with interruptions by my 1 and 3 year olds!). That was record time for me!
