It was good at times.. I guess I should have realised it was a YA book.. The story was cute, as cute as a kid's book can be, but also way too cheesy.
I love this book. One of my teenage years favourites.

15 year old Alexander travels with his grandmother to the Amazon to document the mysterious Beast, where he meets the people of the mist. While I love Allende's adult fiction, the writing of this fantasy adventure was not as strong or poetic.
