"Will the animals be okay?" I asked Grover. "I mean, the desert and all-"

"Don't worry," he said. "I placed a satyr's sanctuary on them."

"Meaning?"

"Meaning they'll reach the wild safely," he said. "They'll find water, food, shade, whatever they need until they find a safe place to live."

"Why can't you place a blessing like that on us?" I asked.

"It only works on wild animals."

"So it would only affect Percy," Annabeth reasoned.

WOW. JUST. WOW.

The first 50 or 100 pages, I must admit, I was like, "Huh, this book is really nice! I can't wait to see where it goes and maybe read the next books but......what's all the hype about?" AND THEN I SAW WHAT THE HYPE IS ALL ABOUT.

First off, the humor in this book is. Phenomenal. I can't remember the last time I actually had to like close a book to laugh. And it's just SO charming, sobbing...

Percy, Annabeth, and Grover are written in such a way that you just can't NOT love them. I, in fact, adore them, and would lay my life down for all of them.

I love how ADHD and dyslexia is brought up a lot of times in the book, as just a part of who they are. It just makes me feel so warm and this is the book I've needed to read. Also, the Greek mythology! Rubs my brain in the right way.

I ended up watching the movie before this so there was a learning period for me to try and realize "oh wait... these are 12 year olds!" but reading the book now, the movie just seems so. Crazy.

Anyway, I adore this book and I can safely say I'm a Percy Jackson stan now.
"I don't know what my mom will do. I just know I'll fight next to you."

"Why?"

"Because you're my friend, Seaweed Brain. Any more stupid questions?"

Rereading for the first time since I was like 10 years old. Surprised at how much I remember. Love the story, love the pace, can’t wait for the new show to come out in December.

Ah, I just reread this book for the nostalgia. I first discovered this series when I was in third grade. I wanted to be a demigod so badly, and when Percy was talking about how these things really happened, it just made me happy lol. Percy is a wonderful narrator and I think that he was my first ever book crush, lol! Reading it again and it's just as good as I remembered it!

“How did you die?"
"We er....drowned in a bathtub."
"All three of you?"
"It was a big bathtub.”
-Percy Jackson

Oh Percy lol
