Great story I just struggle to get past the minor/adult, student/teacher relationship. I know she’s 18 at the end of the story but they met when she was 10 and he was like 21

Hmmm… I really wanted to this book to be better than the last. I’d say three quarters of the book is dedicated to the escape of a certain someone and there’s little development beyond that plot… there’s very little plot compared to the first book I guess is what I’m trying to say. At the same time, I really enjoyed some of the new characters in this book as well as the relationships that developed in this book. However, if you’re looking to read this book for the romance between Brienna and Cartier/ Aodhan… sis, it ain’t gonna satiate. With that said, if you really liked the first book, I think you should definitely read this one.

This book was darker than the previous one in a way that bordered disturbing without crossing the line. I loved all the female friendships. I also adored the ending, it was so sweet and perfectly written.

A strong follow-up to The Queen's Rising.

Emotionally draining but worth it.

This book is a genuinely enjoyable read, just nothing particularly special
