I've noticed that a lot of people didn't like this duology because there wasn't enough happening.

But I loved it! I don't need a ton of adventure and battle scenes for a fantasy book to be good. I felt like the characters were great and I was able to really connect with them. I cared about what happened to everyone in the book and would become emotionally invested when someone was betrayed.

And I've said it before but if a book can get some kind of emotional reaction out of me then I tend to love it.

It's also been a little while since I've read a YA novel and I think I missed them. They are just so good at grabbing my attention and keeping it.

The ending got me good, very soft and sweet, but the rest of the book is just eh, still didn’t change that they had a weird age gap
