It's not often where I like the second book more than the first but in the case of The Queen's Resistance ?That is definitely the case. Queen's Rising was good but The Queen's Resistance was great!
Filled with political intrigue, moral dilemmas, and just a hint of magic. (and romance but it really isn't the focus of the story but a nice compliment to it)

I cannot express how good this duology is. I adore everything about this book. The characters and the plot line and the incredible revelation at the end killed me, I was not ready for it.
One reason I admire this book so much is because it focuses so much on the political aftermath of overtaking a nation. I’ve never a book which focused on such a topic, and I’m no expert, but I believe Ross handled the storyline perfectly.
Another reason is Ross’s writing. I’m obsessed with it: I wish every book I read was written by Rebecca Ross. It’s the right speed, the perfect balance between description and dialogue, and it’s realistic.
One other reason I love this book is the romance. I have to have a romance in my fantasy books, and I judge my fantasy books by how well written the romance is. And this one is nice. I love Brienna and Cartier so much. Their relationship means a lot to my personal happiness. As for why, it’s because how dedicated they are for each other and how well they correspond to each other. They don’t need each other to be incredible and successful but they’ll going to be together anyways, heck.
