I really enjoyed this book.. Andie was hilarious, and literally had me crying from laughing so hard. Mack was soooooooooo freaking hot. I honestly love anything to do with cowboys, and god Mack was one yummy cowboy. This was a great book to read to just wind down. A nice, funny, sexy read. I would reccomend this to anyone who wants a non complex read. The chemistry between both Mack and Andie was amazing, and I loved them together. Great read!
Ugh Mack! Such a swoon worthy man especially for a cowboy! I'm not gonna lie Andie got on my nerves at times with her stupid life plan and the asshole guys she would be especially to think they were better then Mack! Ha! Anyway.. When I first read the description I was excited to see how the story would be like. I enjoyed how the first 60 pages or so was the trip to Vegas and when she met Mack. Now it is common for strangers to do what they did in Vegas but to me it's unrealistic to still feel that way two years later. But he really did love her even though she didnt remember and two years have passed. I enjoyed reading once they made up again and Mack had a right to be pissed but once the story was told and explained they were perfect. The only thing I wish there was more of there story after she choose him. Like what was she doing after the wedding? Did she go back home? Did she stay with Mack at the ranch? Did they have kids? I also want to know more about Ian. It would be great if the author wrote a book for Ian!

I loved every minute of this charming and sweet story. Mack is the perfect book boyfriend. He is a handsome cowboy and a wonderful mixture of smart, macho, sweet and sensitive. Mack and Andie meet in Vegas and quickly fall in love after a night filled with drinking and gambling.
Andie is a successful attorney. She had a bad childhood and the only thing that kept her sane was coming up with her life list and then working to achieve the goals on the list. She is feisty and smart but also filled witI enjoyed every minute of this charming and sweet story and I immediately fell in love with the characters. SHINE NOT BURN is funny, has witty dialogue, it is well written, has realistic characters and it pulled at all my emotions.
Mack and Andie meet in Vegas and there is an instant attraction between and they have a wild time together. They drink too much, have hot sex and end up getting married by an Elvis impersonator. Then they each go their separate ways. Two years later, Andi is looking Mack up to annul their marriage, so she can marry Mr. Right. You see, Andi has a life list and she will not let anything get her way of achieving her goals. Mack is not on Andie’s life list, even if he is a handsome cowboy.
Andie needs control in her life. She is a successful attorney and she is feisty and smart but also filled with insecurities. Andie doesn’t have any family support, but she does have her two best friends. Her friends and her personal assistant had me laughing out loud so many times. The things that come out of their mouths are hilarious and they let Andie know exactly what they are thinking, whether she wants to hear their opinions or not.
Mack is the perfect book boyfriend. He is a handsome cowboy and a wonderful mixture of smart, macho, sweet and sensitive. He lives in a small town in Oregon and is a successful rancher with a loving and caring family. Mack is exactly what Andie needs, but she is stubborn and will not admit it. After all, she does have her list and being married to a cowboy who lives in Oregon certainly is not on that list. Mack understands Andie and accepts her for who she is with all her flaws and they have chemistry sizzling between them from the moment they meet.

cute little read. had her moments. some drama cringe. unrealistic.
Well...
The sex scenes were something. Elle Casey, you can write sex. I've read mills and boon for so long I can't even tell you how old I was when I used to sneak my mums books when she wasn't looking... And the sex scenes have nothing on you. Nothing
I fell in love with Mack, he adores her, and you can feel it so much. I also like Andie, but not love her. Shes just a little weak when it came to Mack. I mean he railroads her, which was annoying but its done because hes frustrated with her and angry at her (whether that is justified is up to you) and you can understand why he is railroading her. She just could have been a bit more bold and stood up to him!
I did enjoy this book, and I'd love to see what happens in the next one.

Okay... So this was kind of disappointing. It had a good idea behind it but... I really didn't like how the hero was in love with her after like 5 seconds... And then was still in love with her for two years after and hasn't been with anyone else. I just didn't understand. He knew her for a day and was automatically ready to spend his life with her? No. My heart broke for him though, because he was in love, and she didn't remember him. And then after the marriage was proven unlawful, and he just asked her to marry him. Why not wait? You've known each other for all of two seconds. Do you even know each others middle names? No? No? I thought so.

Andie Marks is a good girl. She has a "life plan" and knows what she wants out of life. Kids by a certain age, making partner at her law firm, that perfect for her husband, she can have it all.
Then one of her best friends is getting married and her bachelor party is in Vegas. Andie doesn't really want to go because she knows her friends will go wild because "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas."
"They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but sometimes the trouble follows you home. Know what I mean?"
She gets completely drunk and meets up with a drop dead gorgeous cowboy named Mack over a table playing BlackJack. They have some wild monkey sex and the next morning she heads back to her normal life.
Fast forward two years, Andie's life plan is on track. She is about to marry "That Bradley" who is a jerk and has alienated her from her friends but he fits into her plan so very well that whoohoo it's on. Then she finds out that something happened in Vegas that she didn't remember. Her and that Cowboy-they got married that night.
So she shows up at his Oregon ranch asking for a divorce.

I really liked this cowboy. Mack. But I didn't know a single thing about him other than the fact that he doesn't wear underwear and he's got a big cock-a-doodle-doo that he definitely knows how to use. Yee-Haw.
Mack doesn't want a divorce though.

So it comes down to a showdown at the family's annual picnic.
"That Bradley" shows up..

You get a chick fight..

Andie has started to question her whole "life plan" idea. Maybe living by Mack's family crest wouldn't be such a bad thing after all. "Shine not Burn"

This book is obviously very closely related to the movie "Sweet Home Alabama" but I loved that movie so I'm still a happy girl with it. It's funny as hell in spots and the lurrve triangle between Bradley and Mack didn't even get on my nerves. The sex was smoking hot without the use of the damn names for body parts that turn me off most contemporary romance books. This was perfection. At least to me.
Now I will say, I had this author on my don't read list because of a blog post that offended me. I'm not a bully but I have been called one several times before over books, it gets to me sometimes and I just avoid any chances of confrontation. Sometimes I just get tired of all the drama though and try to overlook it. That's why I read this book. The breach between authors and readers need to be closed and I'm very glad I did. It's really a book that I loved every second of and I'll read more books by Elle Casey. I may even one star one if I end up not liking it. Does that make me a bully? Nope. (I'm sure I'll get flagged for mentioning that but hell I get flagged for most everything I do on here.)
"Shine Not Burn" people. Life is too frigging short.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley.
