Unfortunately just being told these MMCs we're BFFs was not enough for me to care. Nothing really happens that would've gotten me invested in their relationship. The giant miscommunication was only made worse by the face the entire family knew they loved each other and they let him get engaged anyway and basically almost married. As another reviewer said, a lot happened while literally nothing happened very frustrating

I listened to this on audio, and was thoroughly intrigued on how all of this was going to play out. There were so many people and feelings all wrapped up in it.
I can't tell you how much my heart stuttered when the accident happened. The pain everyone must have felt in the moment had my heart bursting for all that were involved. Everything after was confused feelings, and walking on eggshells.
I loved the relationship and happiness that developed out of this tragic event. You could tell it was the soulmate kind of love.

"He can still hurt and want to make you happy"
Ugh this was a good book. It was also hot as hell (hello un-circumsized peen, ily). Also can i just say it's so nice to have a main character who is not white! Gimme more! This story was captivating & heartbreaking at the same time. I love friends to lovers bc it makes me feel all warm & gooey inside. Gael & Jordan were actual angels but my main issue with the book is they felt exactly the same.... it was hard for me to differentiate which POV chapter i was reading in bc their inner monologues were very similar. I wish their personalities separately were a lil more pronounced. Other than that i would read this book again, especially for the spicy scenes omgggg. Right after the main conflict Gael says this:
"it was like someone had thrown me to the ground and, like glass, i shattered, but they couldn't find all the pieces to put me back together"
& my heart broke. I fucking love this quote it's so relatable. Def check this one out, apparently it's an interconnected series so i'm for sure gunna read the first one.
