Druhé čtení a pořád dobrý!

2021:
The Dragon Republic je jedna z těch věcí, které mi vždycky připomenou, proč miluji čtení.

Zasáhne to do srdce, strašně moc a mockrát. Ale je to něco, co nebudete jen číst, ale co prožijete a skončíte na poslední straně šťastní a unavení a vyždímaní a nešťastní a wtf všechno. A to je to.

Jedna z top knih vůbec.

Run was driving me crazy for a large portion of the book. She was so whiny and playing victim. Then she gave blind trust to people who betrayed her. I wanted her to burn everything down. Maybe she will in book three. Overall an exciting, tense and epic adventure.

I adore this world and its complexity. But at times the plot seemed lost, and there were both moments of forgiveness and betrayal that felt too quick to be earned. Compared to the exceedingly tightly written poppy war this second installment was a bit of a step sideways rather than forward. That said it’s still a remarkable piece.
