Man kann mir erzählen, was man will, aber Goethe muss den zweiten Teil unter Drogeneinfluss geschrieben haben.

I wanted to read Faust to be cool but I actually read it because it is cited in the opening lines of Master and Margarita - one of my all time faves.
When Mephisto was asked by Faust, "Well now, who are you then?" (“Nun gut, wer bist Du denn?”), he gave the well-known answer, "Part of that force that always wills the evil and always produces the good" (“Ein Teil von jener Kraft, die stets das Böse will und stets das Gute schafft”: Goethe, Faust, 1334-1336).
2. As far as epic poems, I liked all the other epic poems I’ve read (which is 3 - The Odyessy, Paradise Lost, and Eugene Onegin) all more than this one
3. Is the story a little rapey at times? Or no?
All in all it’s a legend for a reason I guess, and I didn’t hate it but I fell asleep many times while trying to finish it……would not read again but also glad I read it.
I can’t remember why I gave it 4 stars originally…
