It took me a few chapters to get into the book initially but as soon as Rosie enters the picture this becomes a really fun read. If you are a fan of Sheldon Cooper in the Big Bang Theory I think you'll get a kick out of this book.
Spoilers in review. Would have gone with 3 1/2 stars. A quick, enjoyable summer read. Simsion did a great job in the original character development of Don and his transition to the character he was at the end of the book. Going with 3 1/2 because it was obvious from the start - and the title - that Don and Rosie would overcome obstacles and be together. It was also not very surprising that none of the men in the "Father Project" were Rosie's father (though I was a little surprised by the ultimate outcome).
Such a sweet story. I love being able to see into Don Tillman's mind -- even if the rest of the book was awful, it would be worth it for that part. But, it wasn't awful. It was a good plot with very like-able characters, and a feel-good ending (love stories like that).
A great beach read, I read it in a day. Moments where I laughed out loud. Big Bang Theory meets Sophie Kinsella.
This was a repeat read for me, but I couldn't exactly remember what happened and I needed something uplifting and light since I'd just read 2 Kristin Hannah books in a row. It's super cute and quirky. I'd say a great beach read for anyone looking for books as we head into summer. I have the next one (which I'm pretty sure I also read but only recall pieces of) on hold as an audiobook from the library.
Very dry humor. This book was pretty. Honestly, from the first page I wasn't expecting it but soon you care for the main character. Nicely written and definitely a different type of book.
A fun, quick read with a pretty typical chick-lit plot. I enjoyed seeing from the perspective of Don - I liked his character development and his progression in learning about himself. It's refreshing to read a book like this!
I can’t believe I have waited so long to pick up The Rosie Project. This book was funny and also heartfelt. While Don is 39 years old, his innocence shines through. He’s straightforward with people and usually just calls it as he sees it. Don’s journey and self realization was enjoyable to read.
I actually listened to the audio book for this one. The narrator, Dan O’Grady, was outstanding. His tone and delivery was right on. I really felt like I was hearing Don Tillman tell his story.
