What an amazing book!!! This has to be the most thought provoking book I’ve ever read. 
We see how the system failed our main character, not  that it’s and excuse for his behavior but it causes you to feel sympathy for him and really understand his story. None of what he did is justifiable but I was able to feel sorry for him and acknowledge the fact that he was a depraved human being, who did wrong things, he sought for help but he wasn’t given any. 

The last chapter made me cry honestly because I couldn’t bear it, the what could have been, the only if, the unfolding of the impossible. Oh goodness😭

Wow this was such a poignant story that I simply couldn't put down. All of the perspectives were so interesting to read from and the relationships between the characters were psychologically very well developed. The reason why this book is not as memorable for me as it perhaps could've been is just because the characters were not necessarily written in a way that I could relate to. I felt like they didn't have very distinctive voices, it was more like this literary-fiction-gaze that we were looking at them through which I can't explain but if you know, you know lol. Anyway, a super well-written and poignant read regardless!

For some reason, I had trouble vibing with this story the way I normally do with mystery/thrillers, but it was well written and thought-provoking.

A full review to come... I have to dwell on this one for a bit as I believe anything I might say about this book, just won't do it justice. 

My chest is heavy from the emotions this book invoked. I sobbed. I feel like Danya Kukafka opened a giant wound. What a raw, haunting, and incredibly beautiful book this was. So intensly powerful, and the prose was just gorgeous. Absolutely a five star read.
