Don’t you just love small town romances, where the heroine is a librarian… I love it. And this one was right up there for me. Totally enjoyed this book from start to finish.
Griffin and Leni were best friends and neighbors since childhood and all through teenage years. And even though they were super close they never took their friendship any further. Even though they both wanted the other.
Now they are adults, still neighbors, Griffin is a firefighter and Leni is the town librarian. When tragedy hits Leni’s life, the only one who supports her and she can count on is Griffin. And spending so much time with each other, is the risk too great to see where things may lead if they took their friendship further or will their entire life’s friendship be doomed if things don’t work out for them?
Totally sweet and cute and just freaking adorable. Loved it from start to finish and definitely recommending this one. Griffin was sexy, hot and totally a dirty talker and Leni was cute and quirky and together they were adorable. Read this book you wont be sorry

Overdue was such a cute read. I really enjoyed Miranda Elaine's writing and I can't wait to see what she does next.
Leni and Griffin have been best friends for a long time but they both have more than friendly feelings for each other and they have for a long time. After all the upheaval that happened in Leni's life, she doesn't want things to change. Griffin doesn't think Leni has anything but friendly feelings for him so he's kept his feelings to himself. Then something tragic happens that brings them together and it was so cute.
Griffin and Leni being together was adorable. I could really tell they'd been friends for a long time. I loved how much they both grew as people because of their more intimate relationship with each other. The story felt super realistic and I enjoyed seeing Griffin and Leni's relationships outside of each other.
Overdue was an adorable read that would bring happiness to any reader.

Overdue was such a fun, slow burn, and emotional filled story. Griffin and Leni have known each other for most of their life. Leni has been through a lot and still carries those experiences with her, to the point it may impact her future. Griffin didn't always like Leni, but she grew on him. Griffin and Leni have been friends, but what will happen will one starts to want more? Will they give in to their feelings and take the chance? Or will past experiences and fears get in their way? Read Overdue, you will love Griffin and Leni!
3.25 stars. Overdue has a cute premise. This is a small-town, best friends to lovers story about Griffin and Leni. The two have been best friends and next door neighbors since they were kids. Now as adults, he is a firefighter and she is a librarian, and they are as close as ever. The two share an attraction, but were not willing to risk their friendship. When Leni faces a family crisis, Griffin steps up to comfort her and they find they can no longer ignore their feelings for each other.
Ms. Elaine is a new-to-me author. I liked the story but had a hard time connecting to the writing style, personally. The story was cute, but the writing felt a little YA and the characters lacked chemistry. I didn't really understand why Griffin and Leni were so oblivious about their feelings for each other. Still, this was an easy read and was entertaining. The two made a cute couple and I was glad they finally admitted their love for each other.
Overall, this was a pretty cute read. I will try this author again in the future!

You are going to enjoy this sweet and swoony story from Ms. Elaine.
This is the story of lifelong friends Griffin and Evangeline (Leni for short). Friends since childhood, even when they thought the other one had cooties they were always there for each other.
Being best friends is everything that Leni needs, she doesn't want to lose another person in her life so she shoves her feelings of wanting more down deep in her soul. I loved her quirks and she was a true bibliophile! She has a dream job and loves every minute of it.
Griffin wants more than best friends with Leni, he wants her forever with him. But he knows Leni's fears and her vulnerabilities so he has waited, oh so patiently for Leni to realize what a perfect fit they are. True soulmates!! Swoon alert set on high!
The flow of this story was perfect. You see their past, present and future. I loved the secondary characters and I hope to see some of them get their own stories in the future.
You experience all the great things in a romance in this story, heart, heat, humor with a touch of angst to bring it all home! Well done Miranda Elaine! I can't wait to see what comes next!

This is one of the most sweet and unexpecting friends to lovers stories that I have read in a long time. The connection between Griffin and Leni will have you rooting for them from the start. You add Leni’s grandma and an amazing new friend from across the street rooting for you, and you have such a beautiful story. It was witty and fun, swoony and sexy and so much more. I adored the whole story from start to finish. If you have not read this author yet, you are so missing out. She has unique and fun stories and Overdue is absolute perfection.
Leni and Griffin best friends from childhood but something special. Their story was amazing and I wanted more of these two. I enjoyed their banter, how things seemed to just flow between them. I also liked how things evolved between them. With time, people in their corner, and a love like they have, it will have you swooning, even rooting for them to just be who they're meant be. Absolutely wonderful book.
4 Super Cute & Sexy Stars!
“That’s all I ever wanted to do, take care and protect her like she’s the most precious thing in the world because to me she is.”
“You are my sunrise and my sunset.”
Overdue has to be hands down one of the cutest and sweetest friends to lovers romance that I’ve in a while. Griffin and Leni grew up together and at first couldn’t stand one another. But, as time grew on, the developed one of the greatest friendships. They were each other’s rock, their person, the one they spent the most time with. So, it was only natural that they would both develop deeper feelings for one another, but be afraid of pursuing it.
One of the things I loved about this story was just how genuine and true Griffin and Leni were. There was no beating around the bush, no crazy over the top drama. Just a sweet story of friends that were in love with one another, but too afraid to take the next step. From the moment you meet Leni and Griffin, it’s impossible to not get swept up in their story. Their chemistry just oozes off the pages and those will they/won’t they moments will leave you begging for more. I’m not usually a big fan of the slow burn, but when done right, I can’t get enough of it. And let me tell you, this author got the slow burn right!
Overdue is the kind of book that you will devour in a single sitting and that will leave you with a big smile on your face. This book is like sunshine on a cloudy day. It’s sweet. It’s romantic with the perfect amount of drama to balance things out. It’s got just the right amount of steam and spice and a slow burn that will leave you bursting with anticipation.
Overdue is my first book by Miranda Elaine, and it certainly won’t be my last. I can’t wait to check out more from this author in the future.

I seriously struggled to read this novel because there wasn't much of a storyline. Nothing really happened until 40% and the rest was still a collection of random scenes.
Nothing separates it from every other friends to lovers book
I also had a hard time with the sentence construction and overall editing of the book.
Also, the fact that they are so in love but the first time they sleep together is when he's pissed drunk left a sour taste in my mouth.
I won't be picking up another book from this author
