"If Earth was such unworthy soil for God's best specimens, why did he perversely plant them there?"

Really slow start. I enjoyed the last 30% of it. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone but I'm glad I read it.

a beautifully tragic book about the manipulations of the catholic church and how it can force a young girl into submission. i guessed the twist but it was still horrific. loved it.

It’s not very often that I come across a main character I don’t like, and Lib very quickly made it on that list! Not caring for Lin’s character made the book difficult to read. And it moved so slowly! It wasn’t until the last quarter or less of the book when I actually started to care how it turned out. The ending was too neat and packaged for my liking.
