What a way to finish a duet. The plot was great of course Drew and Bel were great. The spice was SPICY!! . I have fallen in love with these characters. I was on pin and needles the entire time waiting for everything to happen and I STILL didn't see it all coming. wow! so great!!!

After reading the second installment of the Oakmount Elite series, I must admit that it didn't quite live up to my expectations. While I devoured the first book, 'Wallflower,' in one sitting due to its fast-paced nature, it took me a little bit longer to get through this. I feel that giving this book three stars is a fair rating. The dynamics of Bel and Drew's relationship seemed to change as they tried to recover from the events of the first book and I’m not sure if I like that. On the positive side, I enjoyed the deeper exploration of Sebastian's character and his backstory, which has me already preordering his own installment scheduled for release in July. If you're a fan of cat and mouse games and enemies-to-lovers stories, I would recommend giving this series a try. Just be sure to read the trigger warnings beforehand, as it very much a dark romance. Despite the slower pace of the book, I believe the ending compensated for it, especially with the introduction of new relationships and q potential new enemy.

A slight improvement from book one, in terms of pacing and narrative arc. It held together a little more logically. It was well served by the addition of the Maybel/Sebastion relationship. Ultimately, absurd but fine.

The Wildflower is book two in a duet. It picks up where The Wallflower left off with Drew still being his unapologetic self, but Bel was changing and becoming stronger.
Bel fights back despite the pain and hurt caused by Drew's toxicity, but was it enough? Their imperfect relationship was not progressing fast enough for me in this book. Bel was a disappointment to me because she was still giving Drew too much power. Drew was still an alpha hole who needed to grovel more. However, the story had several unexpected plot twists that kept me interested.
The journey of establishing complete trust and forgiveness was a must in order for Bel and Drew to move on, and I appreciated seeing the dark and formidable Drew finally be vulnerable and open his heart. He truly does care for the people he loves including his mom and Bel.
The brother/sister relationship between Bel and Sebastian was enjoyable and heartwarming considering they were strangers who just found a family connection. I look forward to Sebastian's story next.
If you enjoy romantic suspense with many mind-blowing secrets and compelling characters, give this book a try.
