This surprised me in the best way. I loved how it portrayed the fae as both benevolent and malevolent, adding depth to the story with what we know of the fey.

The side characters were great, adding to Emily's stay in the small town, and the banter between the leads was a highlight. The pacing, at times slow—mainly due to Emily’s detailed musings and descriptions—if you don’t mind that, it’s a truly delightful read.
