Sage knows that her magic is a death sentence in her home. The Cursed are considered abominations, therefore they are cleansed, a brutal display of power from the king and his followers. There's where she'll meet Von, the mysterious leader of the Cursed rebels. Handsome, dark and dangerous, Sage will need to trade carefully around him, but when secrets start to unravel, she'll find out there were more things that hid behind that wall of mist that clouded her mind.

First of all, Sage? My queen. I loved her character so much and her determination to get her brother back. She will not back down from a challenge and is proud to be who she is. I loved when she got to know her little group of rebels.
Von, DAMN THAT MALE!! I was BLUSHING every single page he was in, their first encounter AHHHHHHHHHHH. Yes, I am feral. Crazy. And in love. He is the perfect morally gray male, and I listened to the audiobook so EVERY TIME HE SPOKE, I had to stop and take a breath because EVERY WORD THAT CAME OUT OF HIS MOUTH WAS AAAGHHHHHHH.
Aaaaanyway, I can't wait to know more about this story!!
Ehm... THE END?! EXCUSE ME?!? WHAT. WAS. THAT. I have so many questions and SO MANY feelings I don't even know where to start, of course I'll jump right into book 2, I need ANSWERS.
Ezra and her rocks will forever be iconic.
Please, go read this book so you can fall in love with a dark, broody male, and then get obsessed with a whole other fantasy world that will transport you to another reality. I need more of these characters and story.

Wasn’t too fond of this book, everything seemed very rushed. I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters. There was pretty much no world building either or character building. Seemed like it was trying too hard to be like acotar

I recently did a reread of this book and I forgot how much I loved the characters of this book! If you are an ACOTAR lover, please pick this up!
The story is easy to follow. The FMC, Sage is just an ordinary girl (who prefers to be that way) but does have a gift that she's hidden away from the world. Because in this world, if you had magic and were found out, you were cursed and cleansed. Also not to mention she has forgotten her past life or even knew she had one. But we meet her mate, Von, fairly quickly. Sage knows she has seen him before but cannot place where.
I loved the storyline of this book. It kept me engaged and I couldnt put it down because I was always wanting to know what would happen next. And daddy Von was not giving to many answers to Sage about how they knew each other previously but he shows her in other ways that they know each other physically. And I ate it the heck up!! Shadow Daddy? Yes please!! I fell in love all over again for him and never wish to leave this world.
I loved the side characters as well until we got to the end and that huge plot twist with Soren (what the heck dude?!) And come to find out there maybe a twin involved in the next book?? ;-) Emotional for all of these characters. Loved it all!
