I really enjoyed reading this book and I am going to incorporate different types of investments outside of mutual funds after reading it. It also encouraged me to open a custodial account for my son.

Financial literacy delivered in a somewhat tacky package. I didn't really like the authoritative tone of the decidedly male writer. But I appreciate him setting these ideas down for anyone to access.

How the author teaches about things needs to learn about 'money' in this book quite briefly. However, it is NOT A LIGHT READING. I personally need to read it twice or three times each chapter to make me understand the meaning of each chapter LOL. I even tried to take few notes to make myself clear about what I've read in this book. However, some chapters like 'insurance' and retirement account' or something related with that only applicable on the USA, I guess? So I was a bit confused when I wanted to apply these methods in my place. Maybe if it was dedicated to women around the world-not only USA women. the author needs to get more research about other things related. It will make us a bit easier to understand (the one who is coming from outside the USA).

I am still trying to understand this book and re-apply to my life. Helpful book but like I said, not A LIGHT READING

When women take the classes, they study, read and ask questions. Their goal is to become educated - to learn the techniques of managing their own finances. It's not to prove to everyone else in the class that they're smarter than the instructor.

I love David Bach and I love that he had the fore-thought to make a book catered to women - when I say that I mean to things that I relate to as a woman. I care about maternity leave and not working while raising a child as much as I imagine the child-rearer of the house would.

It 's downside falls in the American financial realm so some of the practical know-how goes over my head but the general tips and the message are well worth reading.

I do suggest reading [b:The Automatic Millionaire: A Powerful One-Step Plan to Live and Finish Rich|621|The Automatic Millionaire A Powerful One-Step Plan to Live and Finish Rich|David Bach|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1436792430l/621._SY75_.jpg|806311] first.

If you share your goal with someone you love and he, or she says, "Oh, You can't do that" or "No, that won't work", remember - that person really doesn't know what you can or cannot do. He or she knows only what he or she can or cannot do.

You can be either reactive or proactive to circumstances. And it's a lot more fun and a lot less painful to be proactive - to make decisions about your life before events take control of you.

Incredible Read for Women of All Ages

This book is a phenomenal resource for women of all ages to get their finances in order. I loved his use of stories from women he encountered because it made it all the more relatable and real for me to open my eyes and want to take action. I highly recommend!

The copy I had (at least) seemed a little outdated, and also much more about defining your goals that gaining financial literacy. There were sections that were helpful but it wasn't quite what I was looking for.

Every woman needs to read this book! I learned so much while reading this book. It inspired me to really take control of my own knowledge about my finances and do something for the future. His beginning approach of debunking all of the myths and starting out with the reasons why the reader wants to attain freedom with finances is the approach I needed to actually get started. You won't regret it! I highly recommend
