Yet another children's book with a rhyme scheme that seems to falter a bit every other page. Seriously: what is the deal?
Also: the convention in children's books of building suspense by putting that last rhyming word on the next page? I think even kids think that's lame. "I don't mean to diss but you know how it goes like..."
"THIS!"
As for the story itself? It's OK; nothing jumped out at me as special. I was disappointed though. The cover suggested owls. There were no owls.

A little llama tries to figure out who each baby has as a mama. The book has a good rhyme scheme and my children enjoyed that the llama was a little silly and they were the ones “in the know”. Illustrations are detailed but not totally my style.
Remember those Scholastic book orders that came in at school? I lived for those days and would spend ages reading all the book descriptions and color-coding them by order of desire. My mom was awesome at ordering books illustrated by Steven Kellogg and this was one of my favorites.
Jaclyn and Colleen LOVED this book when they were little.
A sweet rhyming book where children guess the animal before you turn the page.
Re-read with class today as we were talking about animals, and had forgotten how much I love it!
Be sure to look at the small pictures of animals, too! Brought on a great conversation about how all animals that lay eggs are not birds.
