This is really good. I liked the first one but this one was even better....although...one thing made me mad but I can't spoil it. Overall a very interesting story with good characters and an interesting world.

When a pile of left feet (and no other body parts) turn up in the flood plain, Alex is called in to see if she can raise a shade or help identify the victims. A month after the events of Grave Witch, Grave Dance finds Alex once more mired in a tricky case, stalked by bad guys both mortal, fae and magical and still torn between two men in her life: Death, the sexy soul collector, and Falin - a Fae knight from the Winter Court. Alex must figure out who's using black magic to kill before the rogue witch tears a whole in reality and merges the mortal world with the Aetheric.

Another fun, quick read. As with the first book it's well written, has strong description, excellent pacing and memorable characters. This book also has all the same pitfalls - it's very much a genre book and doesn't stray outside the industry norms at all. The requisite love triangle is still present, still filled with angst and still annoying the heck out of me.

Despite my gripes, I enjoyed the story and will definitely read the third book in the series.

It was better than the last one. I'm curious to see where this will go.

Somehow, this ended up on my list of books to read. I read the first one, but I honestly couldn't remember ANYthing about it. So, I found this one used, I think, and picked it up because it was on my list. When I went to start it, I looked back at the first one and saw that, not only did I not really like the first one, but reading the synopsis brought NOTHING back to me. I still don't remember reading it and none of the characters felt familiar in the least.

So, maybe that's why I loathed this one. It started out okay, but I was just SO stinking bored! I hated this. I just wanted it to be over with already. So, needless to say, I'm done with this series.

An entertaining follow up to Grave Witch. Very imaginative. I will definitely be reading the next in the series.

So so good.

The world(and other worlds) are getting more fleshed out in the second adventure of Alex Craft.
I am loving the magical system, which has also been expanded upon. The loss of sight thing is still one of my favourite consequences of overusing power I have ever seen in a book.
There is a love triangle but I didn’t think it was obnoxious at all.

4 Stars - I am loving the expansion of the world and we are getting more info about the characters as well. Just a really enjoyable read.

Maybe 2.5 stars. There's a lot going on in this book. Plotlines overlay plotlines, and new characters just keep popping up. And why oh why do we constantly have to hear about Alex picking up her purse or adjusting her purse or anything else purse related? So much purse! I don't feel like the ending resolution fit with the rest of the book, and the love triangle is just not doing it for me. I'm not writing off the series altogether, but I'm going to let this one sit for a bit before I dive in again.

So not sure if it's just been so long since I read the first one so I forgot what was going on or if I'm just not wanting to read PNR for some reason, or what, but I was actually bored reading this. Like, I've had times where I'm interested in a book but only when I'm reading it or I've wanted to read but not had the time, but this, I was forcing myself to pick it up and read. And I would read a decent chunk but at the same time, I was reading so much because I was honestly skimming 90% of what I was reading.

I might go back and give this book/series a shot at another time, but for now, I'm putting an indefinite pause on it.

Ok, ok, so I decided to give the second book a go. Basically, although I thought the first book was fairly average, I couldn't get it off my mind, so I decided to give the series a second chance. After all, the author must be doing something right if it sticks in your head that much.

Alex Craft finds out she's part Fae and is undergoing a transformation in this novel which is triggered by the blood moon in the previous book. In this novel, Alex is investigating why left feet keep appearing on the rivers edge, the first lot being glamoured by a local fae (which involves the local FIB) and Fae now keep going missing as the Queen of the Winter Court in Fae recall the independent Fae living in the area.

The end of this book has such a big twist that it left me stunned. I'll leave out the who's, but a soul collector gone rogue and a witch who has recently been released (by accident?) are trying to connect the planes so they can be together at last. A soul collector named by Alex as "the Grey Man" proves to Alex that this is the very reason why her and Death cannot be together, even after he declares his love for her at the end of the first book.

Alex travels throughout Fae in this novel and learns more than she bargains for, even finding some long lost family members. Now that she knows she's part Fae, she must choose a court to align to or else declare herself as independent. The only problem is, if she chooses any court except the winter court, she can no longer live in the same city.

She storyline of this book is absolutely amazing, I'd say it was a masterpiece and beyond mind blowing. There are so many twists that you just end up hooked on the book (is that such a bad thing?). Put it this way, I finished the book in a day. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who's interested.
