KID was everything I expected it to be in a dark romance. You feel all the feels in this one. I get that this will not be for everyone with the heavy drug use but its poetically beautiful. Jescie shows the real and raw relationship between two broken people who need each other. The heavy material was balanced out by KID’s witty banter and sarcasm. I laughed just as much throughout this one. KID is likeable and as mentioned, “could sell a glass of water to a drowning man”. He loves hard and doesn’t give up. Although I never experienced this side of life, I grew up knowing those who did. I could relate using that past experience. Plus you get Cam and Cole in this one too (so I HIGHLY suggest reading HAWKE first or else you’ll spoil it for yourself).
Wow- such a story of trauma and heartache. So many triggers in here; but so captivating and emotionally challenging.
I wish we heard more about Kai though- with his name being the title and yet we never learned of his past in depth that allowed us to understand his personality more.
