Kid was definitely the annoying little brother you never wanted but got and love!! I have never been a drug fan but the fact that this was a wake up call for Kai, it melts my heart and makes me love him ever more!!

I loved Kid in Hawke and wanted to read his story. This made me laugh and made me cry (a lot). There’s something refreshing about the mmc POV for an entire book. As much as I wanted Johanna’s POV (which we finally get at the very end), I enjoyed Kai’s journey to figure her out through the book.

Omg I love Jescie Halls book. This one was very emotional, and listening to Joe Ardens voice at the emotional parts had me crying.

I loved HAWKE by @jescie.hall last month and definitely had a soft spot for Kid so of course I had to pick up his book straight away and I wasn't disappointed.
This book follows Kid who is staying with Hawke and Cole for the summer. They're hoping he will get his life on track and figure out what he wants to do going forward on the straight and narrow. Kid however just wants to have fun, and he's doing just that when he meets Han (Johanna).
I love Kid so much, he's so funny and unapologetically himself, not to mention wildy inappropriate but it was so nice to see the serious, caring side of him in this book too, we love a man who can do both.
Both Kid and Han had serious baggage which was definitely heartbreaking to read at times and I definitely found myself empathising with them both. So i really enjoyed seeing them slowly begin to fix themselves and find the happiness they'd both been craving for so long.
This book was definitely more smut than plot compared to the first book, and whilst the smut was once again *chefs kiss* and I loved the writing and characters etc, I did enjoy Hawke that slight bit more. Hence why it's a 4.5⭐.

Kid had me HOOKED. What a heartbreaking, warming, and remarkable story of love, addiction, and post traumatic growth. Phenomenal!

this love story is so devastatingly beautiful. Jescie is able to make you feel the intense emotions these characters are feeling, therefore I cried multiple times. there were points where I felt so heavily emotional I needed to pause and take a moment to sit with the emotions. this book healed parts of me I didn't know needed healing. it also showed me how important it is to waiting for love where they love all of me, including the dark or parts that may feel ugly to me.

I knew I loved Kid the moment we get to meet him in Hawke. His humor and charm had to come with a price and in Kid, we get to meet the man behind the charisma. This book will absolutely have you hooked and ready to reach in and want to hug him. As always, check your trigger warnings as your mental health matters and this book can be a little heavy but so wonderful if you are in a place where you feel safe to enter Kid’s world.

THIS BOOK!!!! This book had me laughing & crying.. Jescie writes so well! She really knows how to dig into your emotions. She truly captures the emotions of the characters! I love her writing & can’t wait to read more of her work
