As much as I thoroughly enjoyed book seven, I swear every book I start to hate fitz more and more and just wish keefe and Sophie would get together cause they are so cute.

So I HATE Sofitz but I can’t blame that on the book because this book was very well written and fast paced and I did love it.. except literally any part with fitz in it obviously.

"She was Sophie Foster. She was the Moonlark. And starting tomorrow, she was learning to fight back"

Hey guys, so I finished Flashback (Keeper of the Lost Cities, #7) by Shannon Messenger. Wow, that is all I can say. Wow. It was a whirlwind. it was extravagant. Of course, how could I expect anything less from a Keeper book? I really enjoyed it. Obviously. I think that goes without saying. The writing was great, as always. And I did notice there was some more details added to scenery and background, stuff like that. Did not bother me much, especially if it was useful. And if it wasn't in my mind, well then I just kind of skimmed to get on with the action. And boy was there no shortage of action. Both physical and mental. The writing and story was great, however, there is also where I have some conflicting feelings. Do not get me wrong, loved the book. I just think it was peppered with way more questions than answers. In a lot of circumstances, the author just threw something out there in the story, a lot of theories and wonderings and secrets to be uncovered. Important ones. Then just kind of left them hanging. I felt like she had to put them in this story, before she forgot about them. Yet....after flinging suspicions out there, it was like she forgot to address them. Maybe they were to build up the mystery for the next book? Maybe it was to get people to read the next book in order to find out the why behind K's mems, green eyes, W's m, S stones, etc. Regardless, the story still chugged along. A major thing happens within the first, hmm, 5ish chapters? Then that stes up the consequences and fallout for most rest of the book. And even though it kind of hinders the MCs, they try to not let it hinder them. They,we, still learn about some crucial stuff. And the author did a fantastic job at not letting it drag, dull, or dip way from the plot. I do not think there was anything else she could have done to make that frame of time better. Then shortly after that, another HUGE thing happens, then they have to deal with that. Then, well, the ending. Honestly, it felt kind of...rushed? A bit short? Like, she built up this anticipation, then it just kind of faded away. Do not get me wrong, it was filled with plenty of oohs and aahs and what. But it was not as hyped up as I thought it would be. Also, I was kind of confused, so maybe that is why I had the impression I did. During this ending, another HUGE thing happens to one of the characters, and THAT was what really had me going WTF WTF WTF. NOOO. I cannot wait for the next book to see how that is handled. Then on top of that, the last flipping line in this goddamit book, I literally gasped. I was like WHAT IN THIS GALAXY. That...that right there. GRRR. I swear we better be getting some answers in the next freaking book or else Imma be madder than Ro when someone says her real name. SO yeah, this book was filled with lots of action, deception, illusion, heart pounding, jaw dropping, eyes opening, mind twisting revelations and non revelations. And....it had some romance. Okay, okay. SO this really big thing happens between Sophie and one of her various suitors. not gonna say what happens, imma just say the triangle...may be dissolving rapidly. Now regarding the situation, I kind of knew, deep down, she was gonna sway that way. BUT, I mean, I am a sucker for the "underdog" not the "alpha". ANd by doing that, I seem to always set myself up to be heartbroken when the guy I really want the girl to be with is not the guy she ends up with. I swear, I do this to myself every, flipping, love triangle. GAHHHHH. *bangs head on the wall* I just love my underdog....*cries* he is just...he deserves so much. He is so precious and sweet and he just...he just deserves to have some HAPPINESS FOR ONCE IN HIS FLIPPING LIFE. Okay. *takes a breath* okay. Regarding the alpha...I mean, I kind of did see it coming. *sighs* but I was hoping...*sighs* Well...it kind of was cute and all. Even I have to admit that. It was really cute actually. And then the last line of the flipping book probably screws it all up in the next one. SO, with that, I think I prattled on long enough. I am going to stop now....till next time. Bye
