I really appreciate Ronson’s humor and insight as he throws himself into different groups to see what makes them tick. This is even better almost 25 years later, as you can look up and see where these people are today.

This edition's introduction, preface and afterword do a wonderful job of putting the book into context. Both the context it was originally written in but also now in light of 9/11 and many other handfuls of events that have happened since its first printing.
This book is about several things. Is the world secretly run by space lizards? When people say 'the world is secretly run by space lizards', do they actually mean 'Jewish space lizards', or just 'Jews'?
It is actually about more things than that: everything from Islamic Extremists to White Supremacists. Sometimes, the people are outwardly racist, sometimes the racism is much more subtle, and sometimes, like with David Icke and his lizard theory, he probably means actual shapeshifting lizards from space.
Okay my Subway is here and I am going to watch Gilmore Girls so I will finish this review later.
