This was a fun little jaunt into another Tana Stone series! Though what I’ve always struggled with these books is do we realllllly consider this alien romance? Like Drexxians are alien as in not of Earth but no alien as *other worldly*

Tbh i went completely blind and was completely shocked by how much i ended up enjoying it. It was my first alien romance and i thought it was going to creep me out and give me the ick but it was kinda the opposite.

The chapters were reallyyyyy small and it made me flew by. The romance was really cute and sweet and although it was not the main plot I ended up falling for the characters.

I definitely recommend reading it and i’ll be reading the next books :)

Ariana is the first human flight instructor at the prestigious Drexian Academy now that humans and Drexians have an alliance. But not everyone is as accepting of this new arrangement. Ariana has to earn the respect of her cadets as well as her peers, one hot flight instructor named Volten, in particular.

This is kind of like a grown-up, spicier Hogwarts with aliens instead of wizards. This first installment in the Warriors of the Drexian Academy has me really excited for more! The second book in the series, Loyalty, comes out in May. This series is free with #KindleUnlimited. And best of all, it’s spicy without sporting an embarrassing cover with sweaty naked people to mar my GoodReads Read list.

What a great start to hopefully a great series. Ariana is a independent strong female but has a few issues. Voltron is typical alpha male. They are awesome together. I can't wait for more books from this dangerous school they are in. Good read.

This was an absolutely wonderful start to this new SCI-fi series by Tana. You’ve got a plucky, independent heroine and a swoony, somewhat insecure alien hottie. Throw these two together and at first their like oil and water. But pretty soon the sparks to fly, and the chemistry is on fire! Ariana and Volten are perfect for each other, it just takes them a hot minute to figure that out. But these two are going to have to work together if they’re going to save the new cadets, and uncover the wicked leaders behind the plot to take out the humans. This book was fast paced, and full of delicious tension. The world building and descriptions are fantastic and the characters are extremely well developed. I can’t wait to read more of this series!

What a fantastic start to a new series. I haven't read all of Tribute Brides or Inferno Force, so I suspect I've missed some background events, but even so it was possible to understand everything that happened in this volume. I definitely want to catch up on the rest of the other two series before the next book for Academy comes out though.

Love, danger and healing

Ariana and Volten’s forbidden, alien-human romance was such a fun, spicy and exciting read. I loved it. The weaving together of the romance and the suspense was so well done. It was the perfect balance between the slow ramping up of the suspense, the gradual deepening of the relationship between Ariana and Volten, and the tension that comes with integration and trying to change long standing traditions. Ariana and Volten are just such wounded souls that desperately needed healing that I just wanted to hug them into letting go. Their matching wounds not only drew them together but also gave them so much more dimension and endeared them to me. I was feeling all the things with this couple. I have a soft spot for the people who are a bit uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in or are worthy, like Ariana and Volten. So I love when they finally see their truth and their worth and of course get swoon worthy HEAs. Ariana is a human military officer and pilot. She comes from a long line of military heroes and is driven to be the best. She is sent to be a flight instructor at the Drexian Academy as part of the new integration plan for Earth and the Drexians. Volten is also a flight instructor at the Drexian Academy. As a male from a low ranking family in a society where clan prestige is highly valued, he has had to work harder for everything he’s earned. There is instant attraction and chemistry between Ariana and Volten but neither is willing to cross the line from just colleagues but the more time they spend together and the more it looks like not all is right at the Academy, the closer they become. There is a lot of baggage to unpack for both Ariana and Volten to get to their HEA and it’s a heartwarmingly painful and exciting journey to get there. The end is so worth it. This well written alien romance included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline and was filled with sweet moments, spicy scenes, real life issues, imperfect characters, painful pasts, laughs, messy families, missteps, bad guys, danger, and all the swoony love. I am excited to read the more in this new Drexian series.

This is definetly more sci fi than romance, the ending was anticlimatic 🤡, all that for nothing but other than that everything was great.
