a cute story about a gentleman named Mr Hoppy and what he's willing to do for love.

Voor volwassenen redelijk flauw, maar als kind had ik dubbel gelegen

Very adorable and a simply loveable book. The lengths at which Mr Hoppy would go to woo Mrs Silver is endearing. Read it about 3 times through.

I still love Roald Dahl's books as an adult, and this fall I am working on reading the ones I have missed over the years. Esio Trot tells the story of a man, in love with a woman, and how a tortoise brings them together. Of course, with Dahl, it is never that simple. Cute story, and I love Blake's illustrations in all of Dahl's titles.

It was so cute! Although I don’t think he understands what attachment Mrs Silver had to Alfie for him to give away like that, if that had happened to me I would’ve been devastated.
