While not my favourite Stephen King novel, its was still a wonderful read. The intricacy of the many different "stories" that were woven together seamlessly, unfortunately for me the ending was more predictable than some King books. If you enjoyed this book I would recommend reading; The house of Reckoning or Punish the Children by John Saul, Richard Laymon Novels and Tim Lebbon

Great story. This audiobook is read by the author himself which lends some interest of its own to the listen.

Dnf 59% in. I asked a friend if it was worth finishing this and she said no hahahaha sooo here we go I have dnfed a Stephen king. This was more lit fix which is fine but not what I was expecting for sure. A few things didn’t work for me. The MC goes to his lake house and something is definitely happening and he’s just like 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ the entire time and I have 300 pages left of it being explored MAYBE I just can’t. King had some conversations going on for 50 pages like my dude. No. I have stopped caring.

'Bag of Bones' shares a lot with King's later novel 'Duma Key' and I prefer the latter. It seems that here King travels a bit to Grisham territory and lags on quite a lot on details instead of getting to the bottom of the plot. But as always, any Stephen King is a worthy read with fascinating prose and dark visuals.

I’m convinced that no one writes characters as well as Stephen King.

Rounded down from 3.5

It was a good book but it took too long for anything to happen. The first half of the book felt long and quite boring and it felt like nothing was happening.

I also found it hard to really care for any of the characters and all the sexual references felt odd and out of place.

It was a setup for the second half of the book but it wasn’t enough.

I expected more from sk.

The story was too convoluted. By the end we kind of got it, but overall, nah.

*Spoiler alert*
A fun idea about the sins of the fathers being paid down to the 7th generation, but that is too many generations. It was too much and seemed reaching in lots of instances.
