I read this book at the same time I was watching the Amazon show of the same name-made for some really weird dreams. The show deviates from the book-which I can't say that I minded. I think the concept of the book (alternate world, if the Nazi's or Axis Power would have won WWII) is really interesting and though provoking. With that said, I thought that the book was hard to follow at times, this might be overload of The Man in the High Castle though. I didn't feel like the book offered much resolution and had a hard time caring about the characters on paper.

While conceptually fascinating, I feel like The Man in the High Castle spreads its contents over too many characters without weaving their stories together as strongly as I would have liked. That said, I do think that the cultural concepts and cultural awareness in this novel are very nicely displayed by means of its characters and in particular by the interactions they have with one another. The meta-fictional aspect was also quite fascinating, as was the presence of the I Ching. Took me a while to read, but it was definitely interesting to be presented with socio-cultural phenomena that might be alien to the reader in such a natural, matter-of-fact manner.
