Fucksake, Philip
Okay, I get it now.Is the world actually a better place thanks to the Allies (particularly the US) winning the war, or is it actually MORE authoritarian and nefarious than the unfathomable evil of a Nazi + Japanese takeover
Okay, I get it now.
I can't believe I've finally finished it. Great idea, terrible narrative.

Did not enjoy. Characters felt under developed so whatever happened (which I'm not sure what even did happen) to them I didn't overly care.

I enjoy dystopian fiction but this just wasn’t for me. Generally I struggle to enjoy character driven books so I think that’s why I was unsatisfied with the plot. I think there were cool quotations about life and existence but that didn’t make the plot more interesting for me
well this was something
all pkd books I've read so far have had this weird atmosphere to them. Like there are some elements in them that are not really necessary nor explained yet so surreal that while reading I'm like OK let's see what's this about and then some of them never amount to anything muchand I'm not saying they should've been cut out it just leaves me with a weird sense of disbelief and wonder and the urge to poke around in pkd's mind and study him like a lab rat just to see what's in there. (ah yes really normal feelings to have about an author)
he's got this unique brand of insanity sprinkled in every story and although I've yet to find what I've been looking for in his work I don't think I'm done with them just yet
