I was really excited to read this book as I just finished watching the tv show. I was quite disappointed with this book, to be honest. It wasn't awful, but it jumped around a lot and didn't particularly keep me super engaged or interested. I loved the tv show though, and I'll be watching that again. Just won't read the book again.

Not for everyone and definitely not for me. Would maybe recommend to science fiction diehards, lovers of philosophy and/or history. If character development is important to you, skip this one.
Apparently Dick always writes in these short choppy sentences with missing articles. It comes off very immediate and I felt like I could never catch my breath. The form is odd, switching between a cast of about six narrators who alternate randomly. My number one beef is that none of the characters is developed enough to be interesting; they all come off as insincere and implausible, as if they are moving through the world via random actions and emotions. Maybe there's some deeper meaning, after all the I Ching is gospel for three of the main narrators, but it doesn't make for a satisfying reading experience. And finally, the plot...talk about dissatisfying! With such a haunting and exciting concept to work with, it's a shame Dick doesn't give these people more thrilling stuff to do.

Very rarely do I assess a movie or television show based on a book as "better than the book." Well, this show is most certainly better than the book! It gifts me all of the details the book lacked for true connection with the story and characters.

Es un libro original aunque como muchos libros de ciencia ficción ha envejecido regular.
El libro es fácil de leer, la historia entremezcla varias historias de personajes con caracteres diferentes y está bien balanceado.
He dudado entre el 3 y el 4 pero el final me ha dejado un poco frío, aunque me temo que es el estilo de Philip K Dick, ya me pasó con "sueñan los androides con ovejas mecánicas"
Tengo la sensación que deja muchas cosas a medias.
Muy diferente de la serie de televisión.
