progression of this book was super confusing tbh. i feel like i spent the whole of it just wondering when it was gonna hit its peak, but it just kept building and then the action suddenly stopped. eh it was okay. i’m not big on day so i’m fine with him and june not being together. i don’t find their relationship compelling. then again… that means june and anden and uh,, he’s 20 and she’s 15 so,, yeah.

Why?! Why that ending?! I'm not sure exactly why I gave Legend 3 stars, when I started Prodigy everything came flooding back to me of how much I loved this book! There was so much more in depth character development, more explanations on the Republic/Patriots/Colonies and all of this wasn't rushed or just bunched together, it flowed and was effortlessly tied up. June and Day are written so well- in their dynamics, relationship and emotions- such a sucker for them. I don't want to give anything away but this book has everything you're looking for. I'm hesitant about picking up the last one up in case it really rips my heart out, but we shall see!

-1 STAR CUS OF THE FRIGGIN ENDING

I've read a lot of trilogies, and this was a refreshing change from most of the other second books in my experience. I felt like the world of the Republic and the Colonies became much more real, and that June and Day's struggle was more desperate.

There were a few things that could have been better - for instance I could do without the "love square" that has developed since our hero and heroine each got a new potential love interest. And I must be watching too many spy vs. spy shows on television, because I felt like June and Day could have been a little more smart and wary about some of the things that they encountered. But, on the whole, I'm very pleased with this installment and I'm looking forward to the conclusion.

I will admit, right away, that I didn’t tear through Prodigy as fast as I did Legend. I’m willing to bet it’s more due to the circumstances of when I was reading this than the quality of the book. (There was a family emergency, and the book was put aside so that I could focus on helping. But enough about my life.)

We return to the alternating points of view of Day and June and, this time, the book starts off with our hero and heroine together. However, they don’t stay together for long as they are pulled apart by circumstance, as you would expect from any good novel.

When the Elector Primo dies, and June and Day join a group of rebels known as the Patriots each side stands to gain something they desperately want. Day is hoping to free his brother from capture and the Patriots are hoping that together June and Day can kill the new Elector Primo.

The problem is, when everyone has an ulterior motive, and no one is 100% honest with each other, lies, secrets and double crossing take place. When this happens the question remains, who can June and Day trust and, most importantly, can they trust each other?

Being generous as hell with 4 stars but this one was leagues better than the first

Good sequel in the same vein as the first book. Interesting twist towards the end!

Okay, I have to abandon this book. I really liked book one, but this series has continued in the fashion of most series I am trying to read today: Book 2 sucks. Well, I can't say it sucks, it's still good, but I cannot STAND easily avoidable, whiny teen love triangles. For the love of Pete, learn how to communicate! So even if it doesn't go in the direction I think it will go in with June and Primo, and Day and Tess, all the jealousy and stupidity of these dumb @$$ love triangles just make me want to throw the book at a wall. Seriously. Think up an original way to bring conflict into your plot because this sh-t is getting way too old. Okay, rant finished.
